Canoe girl 40th

I was recently asked to make a 40th birthday card for a girl who has gone all around Ireland in a canoe to raise money for charity.  It was quite difficult to find a canoe image or stamp with a female in it, but I eventually came across this decoupage image on Crafts U Print.  I matched it up with some paper from a First Edition pad and 'pool party' coloured card from SU.  The fancy label was made using a Spellbinders die.  My camera is now producing two grey spots on my photos - I've cleaned the lens and it hasn't made any difference - so the card doesn't really have a dirty smudge on the top left - its fine IRL!  I can enter it in the Allsorts challenge - 'Happy Birthday' and also in the Simon Says one - 'Anything Goes.'

Spots and Stripes

The LOTV challenge this week is 'Spots and Stripes' and so I used one of the Art pad images (Vintage boys) and paper from one of the LOTV Nitwits pads (apart from the green stripey paper which is from SU).  The stars and label are die cut and I followed the layout on this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.  As I've tied some Bakers twine round the bottom of the image, I can also enter the CCT challenge - 'Tie it up.'  The kraft card is from Annamarie crafts - I've lots of 'bits' of this to use up now - as I have been using it for wedding stationery and my Craft Robo machine chomped up a lot of it - I think it was too tough for it, even with a new blade!  I will also be able to enter the Allsorts challenge as it's 'Happy Birthday' this week.

Knitting Owl

A quick Happy Birthday card, using a digital image (comes already coloured or black and white), paired up with a retired pink card from SU, kraft card and some paper from a First Edition pad. The sentiment stamp is also from SU and the balls of wool are some of my latest dies.  I'm entering this weeks Allsorts challenge as it is 'Happy Birthday.'

Tie it up

The theme on this weeks CCT is 'Tie it up' - so I think this card fits the bill OK - with the oven glove and utensils 'tied up' in the corner.  The image is from a free set of toppers that came with a magazine and the aqua coloured card is 'pool party' from SU.  The pink gingham card was a scrap from the big untidy pile on the left hand side of my desk - I've been trying to use it up to save having to find a place to store it!  The sentiment stamp is from LOTV and the oval punches are SU, as is the tiny cupcake stamp (coloured with Promarkers).

A quick post before I go to work this morning.  My desk has a big pile of clutter to the left (so you can't see that bit!) and I've been trying to use it up making the latest batch of cards.  I have  almost all my 'orders' up to date apart from a 40th card for someone who has paddled around Ireland in a canoe and its been pretty difficult to find a female canoeist image anywhere!  In the background are some finished 'mens' cards and a get well decoupaged one is just sitting waiting to be finished off.  My broad double-sided tape is visible - I tend to use a lot of it for sticking things down and the wee leaflety thing is info on Fibromyalgia - I have just been diagnosed and have been trying to find out the best way to manage this condition.

Paper pieced ties

Another male birthday card, this time using the Sweet Stop sketch again.  The stamp is by 'Great Impressions' and I used paper from the 6 x 6 Echo Park pad called 'Scoot.'  The sentiment stamp is from SU as are the punches used for the sentiment.  The card is from SU - 'Not Quite Navy.'

Sketch Saturday Birthday Card

I had to make a batch of men's birthday cards recently - so for this one I used this weeks Sketch Saturday design for the layout.  The red card is from SU  and the design is decoupaged - from a set of three - tractor, landrover and JCB I got at the craft fair in Belfast last month - really quick and easy designs for those tricky male cards!  I'm not sure where the red checked paper is from - I've had it for ages, as is the white peel off 'Happy Birthday.'  The grey ribbon is also from SU.  By the way, the 'spot' in the bottom left is not actually there in reality - it seems to be in all my photos lately - must be something on the lens of my camera!

Thank you

I nearly forgot to post this card in time for the I love Promarkers challenge - just a few hours to go!  The image was a free stamp that came with a magazine, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  The pink card is from SU as are the oval punches used for the sentiment.  The lacy edged rectangle was made using a spellbinders die and the banner was made using a die, but I can't remember which company it's from.  The thank you sentiment is from a clear set by LOTV.  The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft 6 x 6 pack called 'Cupcake Boutique.'

CAS birthday card

A CAS birthday card, using the Sweet stop challenge sketch for the layout and a SU stamp.  The colouring was done using Promarkers as usual. I'm entering the PFP challenge as well as it's 'Birthdays' this week.

Kraft wedding card

A quick card I made recntly, using a topper I bought at the craft fair in Belfast.  I used kraft card from AnnaMarie craft and paper from Panduro.  The ribbon and pearl hearts came from MeiFlower and the sentiment was a LOTV clear stamp, punched out using punches from SU.  As this weeks Stampavie challenge is to use kraft, I can enter the card and also enter the Papertake Weekly challenge - 'Anything Goes.'

WOYWW 205

Lots of cards on my desk this week, as I've been asked to make quite a few recently.  Unfortunately I've just the outside of them done - still to stamp a wee verse on the inside and package them up - I find it hard to get round to that bit - the fun is in making the outside bit!

I've also got a picture of one of our 'new' hen's eggs - they have just started laying and the first couple of eggs were very small and cute.  However, as one of the 'old' ones was sick, we had to give them all a treatment which means we can't actually use their eggs now for two weeks :0(  It seems such a waste to throw them all in the bin and buy more from the shop.

Father's Day

I have been making up a selection of cards recently for an order and this is one of the Father's Day cards I made, using Bo Bunny papers and a stamp that I don't believed I've used until now!  The colouring was done with Promarkers and I followed the layout on this weeks Sketch Saturday.
